Stakeholder event in Pakistan
"With more than 4,000 students across Pakistan, the University has an unparalleled footprint of long-term engagement with the country.”
Professor Mary Stiasny

On 9 February the University of London held an event in Lahore to celebrate the strong network of stakeholders in Pakistan that have been instrumental in deepening the University’s engagement with the country.

Hosted by the British Council, itself a key UoL partner, we were delighted to welcome representatives from Government, higher education, UoL Recognised Teaching Centres, corporates and alumni for an evening of celebration.?

Among the guests was Mr Yasir Hamayun, Higher Education Minister for Punjab; and senior colleagues from a range of companies and law firms with which the University has set up business placements for final-year students. Alongside a series of bespoke employer recruitment and networking events, these opportunities are a central element in the University’s employability agenda, with a growing number of UoL students participating each year.

Professor Mary Stiasny, Pro Vice-Chancellor (International), said: “Stakeholders are of course key to the health of any organisation; and I can say with complete conviction that without our amazing array of stakeholders and supporters the University of London would not have achieved the level of engagement with Pakistan that we have today. With more than 4,000 students across Pakistan, the majority of them studying at 24 Recognised Teaching Centres, the University has an unparalleled footprint of long-term engagement with the country.”
